THE PROVIDENCE OF PAN
He appeared to be of a pre-puberty
age, perhaps only ten or eleven-years-old, and despite it being a
cold evening he had bare feet and was only scantily clad in a pair
of ice blue jeans and a vest. With his short blond curly hair,
bright blue eyes, cheeky grin and a fresh complexion, he was a
beautiful-looking child – one that any mother would be proud to own.
But strangely, although he was all the way up on the tenth floor of
the tower block, he was sitting cross-legged on the outside window
ledge and staring into the room through the closed window.
Inside the room, diagonally across the double bed, David was lying
naked, face down on top of the duvet. He was asleep, and he was
dreaming of strange things.
The much misaligned and misunderstood Pan, often incorrectly
believed to be the youngest of the gods and the only deity to have
perished, returns with a vengeance. Armageddon approaches with one
major ingredient missing - without El, who is no more, there can be
no second coming; no salvation for humankind.
Enter Pan. Enter a mystified young man from an orphanage. Enter the
real world of tomorrow - our tomorrow. And enter the Hell that
awaits us!
